Why not just do your dailies so that you can afford a respec every so often, and have a good build for each instead of a crappy build that covers all areas? I just solo the old tBC style of solo play I used to as SV. Send in pet while you start nuking and don't even bother with trying to have the pet hold aggro. No pet can hold aggro vs an Explosive shot crit, and there's very few mobs who will survive long enough to hit you anyway.
